WATCH: Malacañang Palace on NY Times' Drug War Stories: Part of Duterte Ouster Plots


Malacañang linked The New York Times' short documentary titled "When a President Says, 'I'll Kill You" to ouster plots on Monday, March 27. The docu features President Rodrigo Duterte and his war on drugs.




“NYT’s very obvious demolition work flies in the face of the very high approval of PPRD enjoys . The newspaper tries to stir global outrage in a nation that welcomes its newfound peace and order,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a statement.


Abella also mentioned that the international media posted two reports and editorial on the President in seven days. According to him, NYT published  a news feature, "Becoming Duterte: The Making of a Philippine Strongman," that follows the story of the rise to power of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte under the context of violence.  

He added that the publication published "Accountability for Duterte" on their editorial section. It features  jailed mutineer Gary Alejano and Jude Sabio, lawyer of self-confessed assassin Edgar Matobato

Then the latest video that the publication produced is a documentary, "When A President Says, 'I’ll Kill You',"  featuring the vigilante deaths that occurred under the present administration.

The spokesperson assured that NYT will not be a hindrance to the government's work.
