Kyrie Irving and Harrison Barnes selected for Team USA's final two spots

Warriors forward surprisingly takes the last spot for the Team USA.

Despite the superstar dropouts due to injuries, concerns over Zika virus or just the political roller coasters, Team USA managed to secure their full roster for 2016 Rio Olympics, just more than a month to go before the training camp starts on Saturday.

Here are the top ten confirmed players:
  • Kevin Durant
  • Kyle Lowry
  • DeMarcus Cousins
  • Jimmy Butler
  • Paul George
  • Draymond Green
  • Carmelo Anthony
  • Klay Thompson
  • DeAndre Jordan
  • Demar DeRozan
The last two spots were filled in Saturday, with Kyrie Irving finally confirming his decision after taking several days off after the Cavaliers' historic come-from-behind Finals win over the Warriors. However, Irving, who used to be the FIBA MVP in 2014, is no longer a surprise to belong in the roster after gaining a higher reputation during the last NBA series.

The other selection is quite shocking though. According to Yahoo! Sports, Harrison Barnes has reportedly been chosen for the final spot.

Once again, surprising. Not that Barnes is that bad or that he doesn't deserve to be there. Barnes is a good player and a very versatile one especially when you're a part of a winning team. However, after making bad plays during the Finals, controversies started to pop. Among these controversies is that the Warriors is willing to let go of Barnes and is currently seeking to replace him with Kevin Durant and may look elsewhere if it fails.
