Winona Ryder's Old Photo Inspired Stranger Things' Millie Brown to Shave Her Head

Eleven really shaved her head! Netflix's summer breakout hit Stranger Things introduces the iconic role of a badass 12-year-old girl who appeared to have shaved head all throughout the series.

The young British star tells E! News that she drew inspiration from Charlize Theron's Mad Max Fury Road, as well as the old yearbook of her co-star Winona Ryder.

Ryder showed the 12-year-old actress her school picture and Brown thought she looked cool and "thought maybe I could bring it back!"

"So cool, very rock n' roll...I thought she looked awesome!" Ryder complimented.

In an interview with Allure, Ryder discussed her 1985 yearbook photo, explaining that she was in seventh grade and "obsessed with Bugsy Malone but also into the Clash and the Replacements." She also revealed that a friend cut her hair and that she always wanted to try making it look spiky by using mixed beer and egg white.

Millie Brown's role as Eleven has been a very likable character all throughout the series, from her badass shaved head to her crazy powers.

After the amount positive reviews on the 1980s themed series, Stranger Things is expected to have a shot for its second season.

Stranger Things season one is available on Netflix.
