After the controversial petition of Carlos Celdran to have Duterte resign and evenly controversial counter petitions against Celdran's petition, another petition submitted on change.org is getting viral on social media.

With the title "We ask for the resignation of Bishops Socrates B. Villegas as the CBCP President," the petition was initiated by a certain Pablo Tecson. Other sources suggest that it was a Loertson Borres Jr. who actually created the petition and that Pablo Tecson is just a username for the change.org account.
With over 9,600 web-signed supporters, the petition accused Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Socrates B. Villegas and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz for "creating division between the Catholic faithful and the Filipino people.”

The petition questions Villegas' and Cruz's interference in politics in the country. It also alleges that both were Aquino supporters. Part of the petition read: "Why do they keep interfering in the politics in the country when we have a separation of the state and church? We all know the story of Bishop Villegas, an ambitious side kick of Cardinal Sin where his political color is yellow, dreaming to be a Cardinal. And Bishop Cruz who has not shut his mouth since the Erap govt., the Arroyo govt., and now with the Duterte govt., but he was silent in the days of the Aquino govt."
In addition, the petition "prays" to reach Pope Francis in the Vatican and "with the grace of God," to serve as an "eye opener to all religious people in the country to show their limitations."

With an underlying message to "leave politics to the politicians and let the people decide without your directions," the petition itemizes the following objectives:
1. We seek the removal of the title "Bishop Emeritus" of retired Bishop Cruz.
2. Resignation of Bishop Villegas in his Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.
3. The resignation of Bishop Villegas as Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President.
The petition added "They don’t deserve to be called a Bishop or shepherds or vicar of Christ in [their] diocese when their action doesn’t represent the teaching of the church."
The petition has the following decision makers (this is where change.org is supposed to deliver the petition to):
1. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle
2. Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See to the Philippines, Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto
3. Vatican State Secretary
4. Pope Francis
5. CBCP
