Following the Leni Robredo impeachment defense of Rodrigo Duterte, Rodrigo Duterte says Vice President Leni Robredo along with senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima are involved in ouster moves.
Duterte told the media the people responsible for the impeachment move.
"Look, prangka lang...they want me ousted...Who was behind it? Itong si Trillanes...and his elf...Sinong isa?...Si De Lima, gusto n'ya rin akong paalisin," Duterte said during the Integrated Bar of the Philippines 16th National Convention of Lawyers at the New Port City Complex in Pasay on Thursday, March 23.
"[P]angatlo...itong si Leni...Natural..kasi bakit pa s'ya maghintay kung and'yan na 'yong opportunity?" he added.
Although Duterte is against filing impeachment cases against Robredo, it doesn't mean he will not look for the possibility that she could be involved in ouster plot. The President held a press briefing when he arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. He announced that he opposed impeachment complaint against Robredo. Before the press briefing, Duterte accused Robredo of being "in a hurry to claim the presidency."
Meanwhile, Robredo responded to Duterte's defense. For her, Duterte's disapproval of the impeachment complaint against her only shows that the President is only thinking of the country's welfare.
"Hindi ko pa napanood yung interview [ni Duterte] pero kung sinabi niya iyun, tingin ko para naman iyun sa bansa natin kasi iyung impeachment -- whether against the President or against sa akin -- pahihintuin nito iyung mga dapat na pinag-uukulan ng pansin ng Kongreso," Robredo said in a chance interview.
