Funeral Home in Quezon City could not release the body of the bus driver who died in a major road mishap in Tanay, Rizal after two women are claiming to be his wife.
Julian Lacorda Jr, the driver of the unfortunate tour bus used by Best Link Colleges of the Philippines, has two wives asserting the right for his body, said Analiza Hamdali, Corporate Communication Head of Majar Funeral Homes.
Hamdali added that apparently, a legal wife from Mindanao and his alleged Bulakenya live in partner communicated with their office since last night.
It was remembered that Lacorda is one of the 15 passengers of the bus, including students of the college, who died after the bus he drove lost brakes and banged a post on a downhill.
The other woman from Bulacan came personally at their office in Novaliches while the Mindanaoan wife contacted them via phone call.
Lacorda's body was brought to the funeral home, with eight other victims, after dying shortly before noon.
In fear of facing any legal charges, the funeral home decided to require the two to present documents like marriage contract.
They were both encouraged to meet up and settle into an agreement to finally release the driver's body.
One of the rescuers said that Lacorda, who lost both of his legs, was stuck in the gas board.
Lacorda is a three-month bus driver for Panda Coach Tours.
