Dubbed as 'comeback queens' all tournament long, the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors once again proved why they are called such.
Trailing by as much as 7-16 in the opening set, the gritty Lady Warriors have shown up as they went on to a rampage to steal the set, 29-27, then went on to win the next two out of three sets, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19 to seal the V-League crown.
The diminutive Gyzelle Sy scored the two final plays, tipping the ball to an erratic Jet Spikers defense to put the Lady Warriors on the hill, then followed it up with a huge service ace to win the championship.
Sy finished the game with a total of seven points, coming from four service aces, alongside 51 excellent sets.
Pocari Sweat tactician Rommel Abella felt so happy about the turn of events as the Lady Warriors were able to clinch the championship in their inaugural entry.
"Sobrang saya lang namin kasi as a group, first time namin nag-champion," said coach Rommel Abella. "Sobrang saya ng feeling, para kaming nasa cloud."
Outside hitter Elaine Kasilag chipped in 15 points while team captain Michele Gumabao added 12.
V-League's second best outside hitter Myla Pablo contributed 23 markers, 21 coming off kills which propelled her to Finals MVP plum.
It was another moment of comeback for Pocari Sweat, who stared at a 1-0 deficit before sweeping the next two matches.
Joy Cases fought for the Jet Spikers in the losing effort with 20 points, 19 coming from spikes, while Jocemer Tapic and May Ann Pantino both finished with 13 markers.
