Most of the Filipina women in our country spend their time by taking care of their children and do household chores. They are also known for being hardworking mothers just to provide for their family that they are also working to sustain their needs. So, it’s not new in the Philippines if millions of Filipinas are serving foreign families abroad just to have a large income.
With no assurance of what kind of family they are going to serve, Pinay OFWs are being sent to different countries to become nannies and domestic helpers. If by chance, it may be possible that their employers are abused.
Fortunately, for a Pinay OFW who has worked in Qatar since 1986, Liz de Leon, has served 20 years of her life to a great and wonderful family especially to the children – Nasser, Mohammad, MakDim, and Aysha.
When 2011 has come, Liz has decided to retire from working as other children’s nanny and has chosen to stay with her kids to take care of them.
But, it seems one of her alaga cannot forget the pure love she has given towards him while growing up. Nasser al-Naama as a successful writer now in Qatar wants to look for her Yaya Zubaidah (Liz).
To express his love for his nanny, he has thought of creating a video for her saying that he considers Liz as his second mom, his confidante, and his best buddy.
It has become viral that it has already reached the surprised and thankful Liz. She is touched to know Nasser hasn’t forgotten her after all these years.
With the help of the TV magazine show, “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” the two are able to find each other’s arms again through Skype. It has become an emotional meeting for the two especially Nasser who has been waiting for this moment to come to extend all his gratitude and love to his Yaya Zubaidah.
