President Rodrigo Duterte expresses his ambition to have her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, to replace him as President in 2022.
“I couldn’t find any other better candidate than Sara to become the next president,” he said.
Duterte noted that being a fellow lawyer who knows the law very well, his daughter is a strong woman.
“And one thing about her is she is not a bigot,” he added.
Sara Duterte is well-remembered for terminating the P49-billion reclamation project on Davao City’s coastal areas by developer Mega Harbour Port and Development Inc. of Regis Romero II.
“I approved the project earlier but when Sara did further scrutiny on it and asked the project proponents where they would get the material for the reclamation project, I understand the project proponents answered they would get it from Mt. Apo which Sara immediately thumbed down,” he said.
In her first term as a mayor, she once punched a court sheriff who refused in delaying a demolition since she was still in another much urgent commitment.
She got mad after learning the demolition was already started, out of anger, she punched the sheriff thrice.
