7 people died and one is in serious condition after a car and a delivery truck collided head-on at the national highway in Sto. Tomas, Batangas Saturday evening, police said.
The Fuso delivery truck was travelling from Manila to Tanauan City when it hit the Toyota Vios at around 9:45 p.m. on President Laurel Highway in Barangay San Roque, Senior Insp. Ericson Agabao told DZBB.
The car was travelling from Tanauan to Calamba City.
The 5 passengers of Toyota Vios were dead-on-the-spot while 2 died in the hospital.
Police withheld the names of the fatalities, with pending notification of their next in kid.
The truck driver, who just finished delivery on its way back to Tanauan, is being detained.
Police investigation on the case is still ongoing.
