15 'Rentangay' Vehicles Reclaimed via GPS

With the help of global positioning system (GPS) tracking device, 15 vehicles scammed were reclaimed by policemen in Quezon City on Friday.

Incidentally, one of the vehicles stolen was a Mitsubishi with a GPS tracking device, said Chief Inspector Hector Ortensio of the Quezon City Police District's Anti-Carnapping Unit.

"Nag-umpisa ito sa isang Montero na may GPS ang kanyang sasakyan kaya na-trace nasa Kitanglad ang Montero," Ortensio added.

The owner of the said car reported the said information to his group.

They immediately acted and found these 'rentangay' vehicles inside a warehouse in Kitanglad street.

All vehicles were brought in Camp Caringal.

Some victims who rushed to claim their car said that the suspect who rented their car last year promised them P40,000- P50,000 monthly income.

Apparently, the scammer failed to contact them after giving rental payments for first few months of the transaction.

Police still have to looked on what liablity the warehouse owner should face for keeping those cars.
