More than 100 Police SCALAWAGS Mock Deployment to Basilan

Over 100 of the 200 plus rogue cops listed for deployment to Basilan did not show up early Tuesday at Villamor Airbase where C-130 aircraft supposedly will fetch them.

Apparently, ony 53 policemen with "administrative cases" complied to the order of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa of their reassignment to Mindanao.

The deployment, known as "Task Force South", was set to send members of the police force from the National Capital Region to guard check points and urban centers.

40 cops in the list were excused over pending court hearings for their charges.

Policemen who disregarded the order of the PNP Chief will surely face another administrative charges, PNP spokesperson Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos said.

Carlos added that they will be marked AWOL and will be charged anew with “defiance to the lawful order of the commander-in-chief.”

It was remembered the President Rodrigo Duterte granted the punishment of fighting terrorists in war-torn provinces in the south.

However, Carlos clarified that reassignment isn't really a sanction but a regular procedure done in their organization.

"We need additional personnel sa (for) Task Force South. And the order of the commander-in-chief is to fill up that requirement,” he said.
