Long-Lasting Male Contraceptive Gel Proven 100% Effective in Monkey Trial

Males may no longer need to undergo vasectomy, that might be so painful, to avoid unwanted pregnancies.

A contraceptive gel alternative was already produced and is 100% long-lasting and effective as per monkey trial.

Vasalgel, projected to be an alternative for vasectomy for human male, was tested effective in rabbits and recently, in monkeys.

In a study titled Basic and Clinical Andrology of the Parsemus Foundation, the gel was said to be non-toxic and non-hormonal in nature.

It will be injected to a male's vas deferens, the tube that delivers sperm to the penis. It will then fill out the tube to block the sperm.

16 monkeys were used in the experiment which were monitored for six months.

Monkeys were expected with 80% chance to get pregnant within their breeding season but no pregnancies were recorded.

If approved in the market, Vasalgel will be added to condoms and vasectomy as options for contraception in men.

The product has no side effect as it will not affect sperm production or male hormone levels and may also be reversible by ultrasound.

Human trial will soon be plotted as funding will be made available.
