Quezon City police are hunting down the driver of a white SUV who shot dead with a single bullet to the head a 27-year-old man about to be married, in a road rage incident over the weekend.
Anthony Mendoza had called the attention of the SUV driver for squeezing the motorcycle he was driving near the corner of Quezon Avenue and D. Tuazon St., when the offending party suddenly pulled out a gun and shut Mendoza in the head, then just sped away.
Mendoza was about to get married soon to a Singapore-based fiance, and reported gone to Banawe Street to buy some motorbike spare parts when the incident happened.
Police reports showed, after checking with the Land Transportation Office, that plate number AHA 3454 as jotted down by witnesses was registered to a Toyota Land Cruiser, silver metallic, 2015 model, which is owned by a security agency.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, head of Quezon City Police District, made a public appeal on DZBB to the road rage killer to give up as soon as possible and not wait for the police to track him down. Concerned citizens with information about the SUV driver can report to 0917-861-1870.
Mendoza's brother, Michael, was with him during the incident. Eleazar said other witnesses provided matching details with Michael's statement. Probers are reviewing the CCTV footage.
Friends and family of Anthony Mendoza are now appealing to the public to help them identify the driver of the SUV.

In a message posted on her Facebook account, Anthony's mother, Ester Bustamante Mendoza, asked for her son's friends, relatives, and supporters to keep on posting the plate number of the vehicle that was driven by Anthony's killer.
Ester described her son as a responsible and kind son, who still had a lot of dreams. She urged her son's killer to examine his conscience and make himself answerable for the crime.
