A Filipina in Dubai woke up surprisingly after 9 months in a
comatose state.
Perlie Almonte, 35, had an ‘intracebral hemorrhage’ which is
a life- threatening case of stroke brought by internal bleeding inside the
brain, said Dr. Zeyad Al Rais, Head of Critical Care Department of Rashid
Hospital.
Almonte was found unconscious inside her bathroom on April
18, 2015.
Of all coma cases being attended in the said hospital, Almonte’s
revival is miraculous, a Filipino volunteer social worker said.
Rashid Hospital may have the best tools and most specialized
critical care departments in United Arab Emirates but still, only few is
fortunate enough to wake up again and eventually healed.
A native of Laguna, Almonte is on its way to recovery and is
looking forward to come back in the country to her children before the end of February.
