Duterte's Foreign Trips Cost P277M, But Earns $5.85B Investment and 350K Jobs


Foreign trips of President Rodrigo Duterte to 12 countries apparently costs the state P277 million but on a positive note, pays the Philippines at least US$5.85 billion in foreign investments and at least 350,000 jobs for Filipinos. 



Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said in a briefing on Monday that since Duterte took office, he already accomplished to visit 12 countries in seven foreign trips. 

Expenses on airfare, charter lease and other miscellaneous apparently reached P277 million, Abella added. 

Countries visited includes Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Peru, New Zealand, Cambodia, and Singapore. 



He noted that official trips are tasks to accomplish by the President to strengthen ties with other countries, including settlement of economic investments and securing job opportunities for the Filipino people. 

His trip to China yielded us $4 billion of investments and safeguarded 20 agreements for 100,000 jobs.  



It is also in China when we are granted with 50-million-Renminbi that will provide the country with drug rehabilitation facilities. 

Japan also committed an estimated US$1.85 billion along with 5 government to government agreements and at least 250,000 jobs.
