MMDA to Investigate Traffic Enforcer Who Harrassed Commuters for Alleged Littering of Bus Tickets

An anti-littering enforcer will be subjected under investigation by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) after gaining flak online when his victims apparently posted in social media alleged harassment made by the constable.

The facebook post from a certain Vicente Alcantara III, who just accompanied his mother to a doctor last Wednesday, made rounds online after being wrongfully accused of throwing bus tickets on the streets.

Based on his narration in his post, he and his mother just got alight a bus on Buendia Street when the enforcer summoned them.

They were supposed to wait for a jeepney to the hospital but the uniformed personnel scolded them for littering.

His mother told the officer that the bus tickets were not from them but it replied angrily to his mother.

They showed their bus tickets from their bag but the enforcer cursed them back shouting "F*$% you!" while raising his fist.

Another commuter in the vicinity told them that they experienced the same from the enforcer before.

Failing to have his name, they just took a picture of him and have it posted on Facebook with their complete narrative.

In a press statement, MMDA said that the enforcer, whose picture appeared in the post, has already been subjected to investigation.

“The management of MMDA will not tolerate such disrespectful acts, particularly from our frontline enforcement units which include traffic and environmental enforcers,” it added.

The enforcer might face administrative charges or outright dismissal if a casual employee.
