What is With This Rappler's Post That They Have to Take it Down?

A Facebook post from Rappler that they have already taken down was reposted by few netizens and drew flak online for an alleged bias of the online news media network.

The post, which seems to be a satire, was said to be taken down because it was "unauthorized," Rappler said in an apology.

In the said controversial post, a gif which features an animation of Justice Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre, Senator Allan Peter Cayetano and blogger, Mocha Uson were depicted like puppies.

It was even captioned with: "Those born on the year of the dog are said to be faithful and loyal. They're also intenseful defensive with friends and family."

It was screengrabbed by few netizens and gained attention to what seems to be a one-sided opinion and a lame insult coming from a media organization.

Cayetano, in an open letter, questions the use of ad hominem such as name calling to attack them publicly.

"If a Cabinet Member, Senator or Congressman depicted you as dogs and twisted the good value of loyalty to the appearance of being a tuta, the media will be in an uproar. Media organizations will demand ethics cases, boycotts and maybe resignations," Cayetano said on January 30, 2017.

The senator, who fires back to the apology of Rappler not even directed to them, seeks who created and posted it.

"Is Rappler doubling as a social media propaganda machine? Didn't Rappler publish an article on weaponizing the internet?" he added.
