LOOK: Crafty Artist Uses Kitchen Salt For His Artworks [VIDEO INCLUDED]

Who says salt is for adding taste to dishes only?

Croatian artist Dino Tomic is more than happy to prove us wrong. In his latest set of projects, there are no traces of conventional materials like pencils, art brushes, paint, or even paper.

The Norway-based painter who also works as an art teacher and tattoo artist took his craft to the next level by using kitchen salt to his masterpieces. He starts off with a large black canvas, then using a plastic bottle or paper cone, he carefully squeezes the salt to control the shape and definition of his drawing.

The reason for switching to salt for the time being is just it is his way of keeping busy while relaxing his wrist that got hurt from too much hand-drawing.

Judging by his work, you can tell that he's been doing this for a long time. But he stressed that using salt is similar to airbrushing and that he easily got accustomed to it.

However, the amount of effort he put in each work is nothing short of enormous. In his one masterpiece along, a giant Indian Mandala, it took him 25 hours for a period of 3 days to complete. Here is a shot of the artwork:
