After learning that the amount of illegal drugs seized in the San Juan City raid was massive, President Rodrigo Duterte said he would have killed the suspects.
In December, police arrested six individuals during a drug bust in San Juan City, yielding 560 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine worth an estimated $67 million (about P3,334,590,000).
Duterte said he would have gone straight to the site and kill the suspects if he was in Manila that day.
Since assuming the presidency, Duterte has launched a campaign against illegal drugs which has left about 6,000 people dead.
He brushed aside critics of his campaign, saying that its his duty to protect the people.
