LOOK: Australian Mystery Man Wins His Own Private Micronesian Island For $AUD66

A young Australian man only known as "Joshua from New South Wales" is the new owner of a private island resort in the Pacific, after winning last month a raffle by a rich Australian couple, for which he joined for just $66AUD.

The Gold Coast couple, Doug and Sally Beitz, put up their spectacular three-acre waterfront resort on the Island of Kosrae, Micronesia, as the first prize in the lottery, which has been joined by over 50,000 people from 100 different countries.

The tickets sold netted the former owners an estimated $AUD3.3 million.

The private island resort in the Western Pacific ocean includes a 16-bedroom facility and a range of assets like scuba diving business, manager's accommodation and land and water vehicles.

The auction for the property was streamed live and Mr. Beitz drew out Joshua's name.

The young winner has been unreachable for a short time but when Joshua was finally tracked down on his mobile phone, there was a huge cheer from the Beitz family when he told them he was from "New South Wales, Australia."

Joshua was naturally shocked with the news, saying "this is something else."
