Jennifer Dalquez from Labangal, General Santos, faces possible death sentence in Dubai for killing an Arab national after the latter allegedly tried to rape and threaten to kill her on December 8, 2014.
Dalquez was arrested on December 12, 2014.
In a Facebook video post by Abduljaman Damahan of RPN-DXDX Radio in General Santos City, Dalquez's parents begs President Rodrigo Duterte to help their daughter.
"Mr. President, tulungan niyo po ako. Masakit talaga sa akin. 'Yung mga anak niya, tanong ng tanong kung kailan siya darating at kung kailan siya uuwi", said Dalquez's mother, Rajima. "Ama din po kayo, alam kong naiintindihan niyo ako."
Dalquez's father expressed his frustration at how Dubai natives mistreat OFW's like his daughter. "Masama talaga ang kalooban ko. Walang kasalanan ang anak ko. Self-defense lang 'yung ginawa niya."
Dalquez family has already requested for help from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
"Binigyan na siya ng abogada na nag-aasikaso doon. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil binigyan nila ng abogado pero mas magpapasalamat ako kung makakauwi ang anak ko," Rajima said.
Dalquez's judgment will be out on Saturday, February 11, and her family is praying that she'll be out of the death row.
