GlobalPort Star Terrence Romeo Eyes Three-Year Max Deal

Contract negotiations are underway for GlobalPort dynamo Terrence Romeo, who is eyeing a three-year maximum extension deal.

The PBA's Most Improved Player awardee's representative Nino Reyes said discussions are already taking place with GlobalPort board governor Erick Arejola.

"We’ve gone back and forth with GlobalPort but we’re gonna meet with Erick Arejola when I get back for the final negotiation," Reyes said.

Far Eastern University patriarch Nicanor Reyes, Sr. said, "We want what is best for Terrence and GlobalPort."

Romeo's original rookie contract is going to expire at the end of August.

The 5th overall pick un the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft has established himself as the rising star of the GlobalPort franchise.

Romeo also made a mark in the international scene, playing a key role in Gilas Pilipinas' silver medal finishes in the 2015 William Jones Cup and Fiba-Asia men's championships in Changsa, China. He also suited up for duty in the recently concluded FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The 24-year-old Romeo is averaging 21 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the Batang Pier in the ongoing PBA Governors Cup.
