PBA Commish Narvasa Addresses Live Game Attendance Issues

Despite the noticeable drop in gate attendances, PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa believes PBA is in a good position as ever.

The attendance issue was raised by league fans for quite some time now, alluding to the poor live audience presence for the past and present conference.

Pictures shared on social media platforms have shown game PBA game venues, Smart Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena, were hosting meager audience.

However, the commissioner was quick to belie that idea.

"The PBA is a strong league; the dwindling (audience) is a misconception," said Narvasa in a sports talk show.

Narvasa added, "As a matter of fact, there’s still a lot of interest coming in, other sponsors, new teams and advertisers, in fact we have to reject some of them."

Narvasa bared that attendance-wise, PBA has already surpassed the revenue earned at the same period last season.

Narvasa was also quick to point that the worsening traffic in Metro Manila could be the culprit to declining live audience.

But whereas in out-of-town games, the venues were always full.
