Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on Sunday, July 10, on assault charges in East Lansing, Michigan.
Police said that Green was arrested at an East Lansing restaurant, Conrad's Grill, and the victim was a man.
"It was basically an altercation between two guys," police said. "There's no injuries. He was released with a $200 bond on Sunday."
Green's arraignment is scheduled on July 20 and if convicted, he would face a maximum of 93 days in jail and a fine of $500.
Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth from the East Landing Police Department said that they were not called to the scene but were already there as part of their routine patrol. He said he couldn't confirm whether the assault was a punch or a slap but it was definitely "not a shove."
The Warriors said in a statement that there are aware of the news involving Green.
USA Basketball refused to comment at this time. Managing director Jerry Colangelo said, "We are still waiting details. No comments at this time."
26-year-old Green appeared in 81 games for the Warrior last season and started 23 games in Golden State's playoff run to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He missed Game 5 of the Finals for flagrant fouls throughout the postseason.
Green is set to join Team USA in August at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
