BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Money makes people do crazy things, indeed.
Refusing to lend one thousand pesos, Elena Arangel, 62, was killed by her granddaughter named Maryann Adina, 22, moments after a falling out.
Adina went to Arangel to borrow P1,000 but the elder blurted insults about her jobless husband.
“All I asked for was P1,000 but what I got were scathing remarks about my husband who could not find a job,” said Adina, when she spoke to reporters at the Bataan provincial jail.
Arangel, a former Bureau of Internal Revenue employee, died from 37 stab wounds inflicted by Adina. The incident happened on June 2 in their home at Barangay Cupang.
Adina, a mother of a 9-month-old daughter, faces murder raps.
