Justin Trudeau Appears in an Upcoming Marvel Cover

The Canadian Prime Minister has landed on the cover of Marvel's upcoming Civil War II: Choosing Sides, issue #5, coming on August 31st.

The dashing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken over Marvel's upcoming cover, featuring everybody's favorite smile and Canada's finest super heroes. According to a Marvel spokesperson so told to Mashable, Trudeau will also be a minor character in the issue.

Civil War II: Choosing Sides #5 features the Alpha Flight, Canada's premier Super Hero team. The team will be working globally for Captain Marvel and will be seeking the advice of their old boss, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The cover features Trudeau at center surrounded by the members of Alpha Flight: Sasquatch (orange guy), Puck (short guy), and Aurora (elvin lady). Iron Man also appears at the background.

Trudeau appears to be a boxer in the cover, inspired by his real life accomplishment as a boxer.

"I didn't want to do a stuffy cover -- just like a suit and tie -- put his likeness on the cover and call it a day," said Toronto-based cartoonist and cover artist Ramón Pérez as told to The Canadian Press.

Comic writer Chip Zardsky also hinted The Canadian Press before that he really wanted to include Trudeau on the cover when he started writing.

Apparently, Trudeau's late father and former Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau, was also included in a Marvel comic titled Uncanny X-Men, back in 1979.

The Trudeau cover is only a variant cover, which means it is different from the main cover comic and quite special so keep an eye on those copies.
