MMA and wrestling fans were shocked to see that Brock Lesnar was leaving WWE and offiicially returning for a fight at UFC 200.
It has a been a long speculation for a while now, with plenty of teases since Lesnar just returned to WWE a few years back. However, UFC making it official just broke the silence.
WWE also released an official statement that confirms his status with the company and his return date:
Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.
No reason for @BrockLesnar to leave @WWE to do a@ufc fight. None. Smart of @WWE let Brock do his thing. It's all about the money for all.— Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) June 5, 2016
This, however, is an advantage for WWE, to build up the upcoming event SummerSlam and Lesnar's once comeback on UFC can give him more of that destructive and dangerous image which is one of the most feared character in WWE.
Now, all that is left to find out is who will be the opponent this coming July 9?
