WATCH: Penniless Father Who Got Unemployed Walks Home For Six Days From Valenzuela to Isabela

Virgilio Culibao suddenly got laid off from work as a construction worker in Valenzuela. Without money to ride public transportation, he decided to walk his way home to Isabela.

Trolleying his "kariton," he endured walking a distance of 280 km. He got no money and no food to eat except for the occasional alms he'd get from passersby.

It took him 6 days to finally get home to Ilagan City in Isabela.

In a report by ABS-CBN, Mang Virgilio was a construction worker for a year when he got laid off. He said he was planning to sell his "kariton" except he couldn't find any buyer.

“Benta na lang ‘tong kariton, ‘yung ang isip nila, eh wala pong bibili. Kung ‘di ko magamit ‘dun, kakalasin ko na lang ...pang-ano namin sa bahay. Andito ang pamilya ko eh, sa Isabela eh.”

At one point he got hit by motorist and had a hard time pushing his "kariton" uphill.

Mang Virgilio would also pick up junk and sell them to people so he could feed himself.

Upon reaching Nueva Ecija, he was spotted and immediately assisted by a group called Motorcycle Riders. One of the riders, Larry FariƱas, narrated that his friend saw Mang Virgilio and gave him food. His friend also posted about Mang Virgilios situation on Facebook.

In Solano, Nueva Viscaya, another rider waited for Mang Virgilio's arrival, then transported him and his "kariton" to his family in Ilagan City.

Mang Virgilio swore he'd never go back to Manila again. He would farm in his home town instead.
