Authorities at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Tuesday identified the suspect in the death of 27-year-old motorcycle rider Anthony Mendoza as Fredrison "Son Son" Atienza, driver of the white Toyota Land Cruiser with plane no. AHA 3454.

QCPD Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar presented in a press conference the photo and the artist's sketch of Atienza. Eleazar said they were able to identify the suspect through the CCTVs installed near the crime area.

According to Eleazar, Atienza is about 45 years old from Karuhatan, Valenzuela City and is said to be a poker player.

The cartographic sketch released by the police is identical to this photo of a man wearing a yellow / gold shirt and seen playing poker.

Anthony's brother, Michael, who was with him when his brother was shot, positively identified the suspect when the latter's picture was presented to him by QCPD cops. Michael said he was "101 percent" sure that the man in the photo was his brother's killer.

Operatives are now on a manhunt operation to find Atienza.

The QCPD chief is advising Atienza to surrender immediately.

"Para sa kanya at para sa pamilya ng biktima...mabuti na humarap s'ya sa kanyang problema [For himself and for the family of the victim...it will be good for him to face his problem]," Eleazar said in a radio interview.

A 9mm pistol and .45-caliber gun were earlier licensed under Atienza's name but the licenses had already been revoked, according to the QCPD Chief.

"So di s'ya authorized maghawak ng baril...walang lisensya ang gamit n'ya [So he's not authorized to use a gun...what he used was not licensed]," he added.

The victim called the attention of Atienza driving the SUV for squeezing his motorcycle when the offending party suddently pulled out a gun and shut the IT professional in the head.

Mendoza was about to tie the knot soon to a Singapore-based fiance.
