Another dead oarfish, 12-foot long, was found at the beaches of Barangay. Rojales in Carmen, Agusan Del Norte.
This is the sixth oarfish sighted in the area since last month.
Experts believe that rising of these deep-sea creatures in shallow water is a good predictor of earthquakes.
Japanese seismologist Kiyoshi Wadatsumi explained that these creatures living in the deep sea are highly sensitive to fault movement.
People around the world believe though that regardless of the its ability to detect fault movement, appearance of oarfishes indicates that natural calamity is about to happen.
In 2010, for example, appearance of dozens of oarfishes in Japan was followed by a destructive earthquakes in Chile and Haiti.
In Japan, oarfishes are considered "prophet of doom."
Prior to the Earthquake in Surigao last week, five other oarfishes have been spotted.
The oarfish was seen awashed to bay with dried leaves and other marine debris.
