Inside a detention cell without air conditioner and refrigerator , Senator Leila de Lima already survived her first 24 hours after her arrest on Friday.
Ferdie Maglalang, her chief media officer on Saturday, reported that the accused Senator is apparently "in good spirits" inside the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
Family, friends and supporters visited de Lima in her first day to show support.
Noted visitors were ex-Commission on Human Rights (CHR) chairperson Loretta Ann Rosales, current CHR head Jose Luis Martin Gascon, CHR commissioner Karen Gomez-Dumpit, former Civil Service Commission chair Karina David, and Sister Arnold Maria Noel.
Maglalang added that her office staff in the Senate also paid her a visit.
Her first lunch inside were brought by her visitors. She enjoyed nibbling ginisang munggo and fried fish.
De Lima was arrested for her alleged connection on the illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prison.
