Duterte to Police SCALAWAGS: Resign or Go to Basilan

236 police facing administrative charges were given an option by President Rodrigo Duterte to resign or to move to strife- torned areas of Basilan.

"Prepare to move out. I’ll give you two weeks from now, 15 days. If you don't want to go there, go to your superior and tell them that you are going to resign," the Commander- in- chief said.

Members of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) who are allegedly involved in illegal activities like extortion and robbery, or caught positive for illegal drugs faced the president who had lost his trust on them in MalacaƱang on Tuesday.

The President apparently wants to send police scalawags to Basilan for two years where Abu Sayyaf group plunder the land.

"All of you, you are part of the task force [in the] south. I will send you off in Basilan. Live there for two years. If you are able to live, go back here. If you die, I will tell the police not to spend and just bury you there. Do your futile acts there," Duterte added.

Duterte even wanted the cops to clean the filthy waters of Pasig River.

"I want you to clean [the Pasig River]. Go back here, wear swimming trunks and clean the Pasig River. Drink [the water] because it's filthy," he added.

Berated with Duterte's sharp words, the cops were even instructed to stand still until his Cabinet meeting ended.

PNP Chief Director Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa expressed support with the President's shame campaign against rogue cops believing that it will help cleanse the police force.

"I don't care if they would get embarrassed. If they are put to shame, the more I am put to shame because I am the [police] chief. Meaning, if my constituents are bad eggs, I am also bad eggs," he said.

PNP was recently tagged by Duterte as "corrupt to the core" after some member's involvement on a fake "Oplan: Tokhang" operation was bared.
