Duterte Loses Trust to PNP and NBI

After the 'Tokhang for Ransom' controversy exploded,  President Rodrigo Duterte loses his trust to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

"There are no policemen in the entire country [to execute drug operations], and I want to add even the NBI. The bureau is suspended from enforcing drug laws. Kasali kayo...Kasi nawalaan na ako ng tiwala sa iyo,” Duterte said in a speech in Davao City on Thursday.

Recently, the President called PNP as "corrupt to the core" prompting him to conduct internal cleansing in the police force.

After barring PNP's Anti-Illegal Drug Unit from carrying out Tokhang operations, NBI is also halted after their alleged involvement on the Korean kidnapping slay.

Aside from rogue cops who killed Korean Jee Ick Joo inside Camp Crame, several agents of NBI were recently associated as confessed by a certain Jerry Omlang, an alleged volunteer of the agency.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will continue the war on drugs in their behalf.
