Bestlink College Allegedly Frightens Students to Join Tour to Graduate

Parents of students who met a road mishap in Tanay, Rizal on Monday morning claimed that Bestlink College of the Philippines scares their students from not graduating to join the tour.

"Tinatakot nila yung mga estudyante. Sinasabi nila sa mga estudyante hindi daw sasama sa field trip ibabagsak daw sa subject," one of the parents said.

Apparently, the tour that was insisted by the university killed 15 of their students after one of their tour bus banged a post in a curved road in Tanay.

Mardy Luz, parent of a survivor, filed a blotter against the institution for allegedly warning her child, who was only a freshman, that they will not graduate if they will not join the camp.

The Quezon City- based college, in totality, obliged 517 of their students to have a medical and survival training as part of their requirement for National Service Training Program (NSTP) subject.

58 of the students aboard Bus no. 8 unfortunately figured in a nightmare instead.

“Hindi nila nire-require yang camping na yan. Pinipilit nila dahil ibabagsak daw nila tapos pinipilit nila yung magulang na pumirma ng waiver," a parent from one of the survivor said.

Some parents staged a protest inside the campus premises.

“Di ko nga alam kung nasaan na yung patay. Bakit di pa inuuwi nila? Ang saya-saya pa po ng anak ko nagpaalam pa ko sa akin yun. Di ko nga po yun pinapayagan. Bakit po ba kasi may school na ganon? Pinagbawal na ng school yun na wala ng field trip dahil maraming nangyayaring ganon," another parent cried.

Bestlink College denied the allegation that their candidacy for graduation is at stake if they fail to attend the training but more appropriately, a requirement for them to pass NSTP.

Failure to comply to that only constitutes for an 'incomplete' mark, they added.

Meanwhile, the camp still pushed through despite the death of some of their schoolmates.
