Amid the 'Tokhang for Ransom' controversy, Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday proved that the Korean kidnapping slay case is not an isolated incident among members of the Philippine National Police.
In the senate hearing instigating cops, he presented a CCTV footage showing police officers allegedly planting drugs during a raid in an office on October 26, 2016.
"There’s an advance party in this case. Somebody would plant the shabu and then the raiding party would arrive. These are police officers. They would rob people of P7 million and then ask them to cough up another P2 million," the senator said.
Cops were seen rushing inside an office, instructing employees to transfer to a separate room.
Thereafter, they ransacked every desks where one of them was spotted taking out something from his bag and putting it on the desks.
Cops in this video were already relieved from their duties.
"The chief of the PNP has already ordered the investigation and those people have been relieved," Director Oscar Albayalde, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, said on Friday.
