WATCH: Drug Suspect Uses His Own Son as Human Shield


Police operatives on board an AUV immediately pulled over as soon as they confirmed that their target, a carnapper and a drug dealer at large, was in an identified car.




Authorities swiftly got off the AUV and ordered thee suspect to surrender, but the suspect tried to hide behind and L-300, took a boy as a human shield and open fired

The suspect then tried to escape until one of the operatives cornered and shot him.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Castillo, a notorious criminal with warrants of arrest for frustrated murder in Batangas in 2012 and carnapping in Quezon City in 2013.

According to authorities, the little boy in the footage is Castillo's son.



"Yung family nya kasi kasama nya. Talagang ginawa nyang pang-hostage yung mga anak nya. Akala nga namin hindi sya lalaban ...kasi kasama mo yung pamilya mo e ...So dun kami napilitan na gumanti ng putok at pilitin na sagipin yung bata [mula] sa kamay nya kasi ginagawa nyang panalag." narrated S/Insp. Christian Burgos, Regional Intelligence Office-NCR Team Leader.

The national police intelligence group had been monitoring Castillo for two months and found out he also have links to the drug trade.

Castillo's wife denied the allegations and claimed her husband had been receiving threats.

Operatives recovered the .45 caliber gun and ammunitions in his car. They also found Quezon City Police District plates, which they are now verifying.



Authorities are still investigating if Castillo is part if bigger networks of criminals and drug lords in the country.
