Department of Justice secretary Vitalliano Aguirre II exposed that gambling lord Jack Lam allegedly has a protector from the National Bureau of Investigation.
"Alam ko pong may protector si Jack Lam sa NBI kaya't hindi NBI ang aking ginamit," he explained on Monday.
In his speech in a flag raising ceremony, Aguirre said that Jack Lam's connection with NBI is the reason why he didn't tap the agency to do the operation against the online gambling business lead by the tycoon.
Instead of, DOJ sought for the help of the Philippine National Police through chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa in raiding the illegal business situated at Fontana Resort in Clark, Pampanga.
Dela Rosa alloted more than 100 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers.
In the said operation, a total of 1, 240 Chinese were arrested in there alleged involvement in the illegal business of Jack Lam.
Jack Lam is accused of bribery and economic sabotage after offering money to Aguirre due to the arrest of the said number of foreign illegal workers inside his jurisdiction.
