After a stroke derailed his career, veteran actor Dick Israel was met with another life-altering catastrophe.
The frail actor, who is residing at 144 Evangelista Street, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City, was seen on social media together with his house that was razed by fire.
"Dick Israel isa sa hinangaan natin artista. kontrabida at komedyante noong dekada 80’s. Matapos magkasakit, nadamay naman sa sunog ang kanyang tinitirahan. Sana may mag paabot sa kanya ng tulong sa mga nakasama nya sa industriya. Kailangan nya ng damit, gamot at pagkain," Itanong mo Kay Delio posted on Facebook on Sunday night.
Israel is best known for his villainous roles, appearing in more than 200 movies and 22 television shows. He bagged the Best Supporting Actor awards in 1988 for "Patrolman" in the Metro Manila Film Festival and again in 1994 for "Kanto Boy: Anak ni Totoy Guwapo" during the FAMAS Awards.
He suffered a stroke in 2010, leaving half of his body paralyzed and his speech slurred.
