Pokémon GO Launches on iOS and Android

Want to experience catching Pokémon on real life? Want to challenge other trainers face to face? Niantic's ambitious reality game is now available to download from iTunes and Google Play stores in Australia and New Zealand.

Pokémon Go has now launched in a limited number of countries around the world.

The free-to-play game uses your phone's camera and GPS to manipulate the world around you with Pokémon. As you walk around, you can discover more wild Pokémons, battle other Pokémon trainers, fight in Pokémon Gym locations. And of course the best thing, catch 'em all.

This new app can be downloaded for iOS and Android users in Australia and New Zealand. Although, another app download link was leaked and gave some of the worldwide fans the opportunity to experience the Pokémon mania.

Nintendo did not immediately respond to request for commenting regarding a wider release. Pokémon Go is Nintendo's second foray into smartphone games, having launched the Miitomo social app earlier this year.

Now, Pokémon Go players should take note that they should be careful when playing this game. Though it's really exciting to stroll around while patiently waiting for Pokémon to pop up, here are some things to remember as a precaution:

  • Do not randomly cross the street while staring at your phone
  • Do not stop in the middle of the street if you found a Pokémon
  • Remember to eat
  • Better prepare of a rapid drain of battery
  • Don't let yourself get lost! Be aware of your environment.
Other than that, enjoy playing this awesome game.
