Pacquiao Attends Mahindra Game as the Senate Session is Suspended

Since being picked 11th overall by Mahindra Enforcer (formerly Kia) in 2014 PBA Draft, retired boxer and current senator Manny Pacquiao has been on-and-off the hardwood floor of the league.

But PBA fans were caught by surprise when Pacquiao, along with his wife Jinkee, showed up in the playing venue at a game against the San Miguel Beermen in the ongoing PBA Governors' Cup.

Did his PBA appearance coincided with his Senate duties?

"Nagkataon lang na ngayon wala kaming session, so may time ako manood at suportahan ang team ko," Pacquiao, Mahindra's playing-coach, said in a TV interview.

Pacquiao was referring to the Senate session, which was suspended to make way for the National Security Council meeting.

The last time Pacquiao suited for action was during a game against Alaska back in November 7 in the all-Filipino conference.

Pacquiao played two games in the Philippine Cup, the other was against Rain or Shine where he scored his first two points in his PBA career off a corner jumper that sent the fans in frenzy.

In the last game of the Enforcers against the mighty Beermen, the eight-time boxing champion was seen sitting at the sidelines to provide moral support to his team.

Both staking their undefeated 2-0 win-loss record, Mahindra found an extra boost in Pacquiao's presence and eventually outlasted the Governors' Cup defending champions, improving their record to 3-0 -- the best start in franchise history.
