Film ratings organization, the BBFC, has revealed the films which received the most complaints last year. Surprisingly, Minions are among them!
Spectre and Kingsman: The Secret Service are just topped last year's films that have received numbers of complains from protective parents due violent contents. Seeing these two movies in the list isn't that much of a surprise at all, especially Spectre which part of the James Bond movie series.
But what's really surprising is having the cute cuddly movie Minions in the top three. Yes, these banana jelly-bean looking little creatures just found its place on the 2015's most violent movies.
BUT WHY?
The Minions movies which was labeled as U-Rated of "universal for all" was said to show some dangerous stunts like "slipping unharmed through a noose and playing with the gallows", as pointed out by the BBFC.
According to BBFC, though the scenes take place in an unrealistic, comic and slapstick manner, these are crucial in the eyes of children, especially for those who are too young to understand such actions. But the realistic risk of harmful imitation is very low.
Topping the list as the most complained about film of 2015 was Spectre, the James Bond movie that had 40 complaints filed against it, even after it toned its violence down.
According to the BBFC, the scene involving eye-gouging was slightly "too strong for the company's preferred 12A classification."
Kingsman: The Secret Service, however, had distributors seeking advice from the BBFC on how to secure a 15 certificate -- as opposed to an 18 -- before the release.
The movie somewhat received a positive review, with some strong violent moments yet maintained to be relatively brief.
