In a wake of tragedy, no words can describe the grief of seeing human lives abbreviated to hashtags. And in the wake of deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, one social media campaign is offering a light from this tragedy.
#CarefreeBlackKids2k16 was launched by Another Round and co-hosted by Heben Nigatu which amplifies pictures and videos of black youth living life out loud. It is to celebrate the spirit, the steeze, and the ritualistic way in which they've learned to fill the emptiness with art and humor, love and laughter.
