Rachelle Ann Go Wins Theater Award For Les Miserables Performance

Global recognitions keep on adding to the Philippines as Rachelle Ann Go won another theater award, this time from Broadway World UK awards on Thursday for her performance as Fantine in the French musical Les Miserables.

29-year-old Go was awarded "Best Performance of a Song" for her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream," one of the key pieces in the West End Frame production musical play.

"Thank you West End Frame! I'd like to thank all those who voted for me. It's an honour to be performing and appreciated here in beautiful London's West End. I owe this great award to you, guys," was Go's statement.

"And to the whole Les Miserables company, thank you for being so amazing and for all the support and encouragement! What a dream come true to be part of this phenomenal long running show. I am so blessed! Cheers," she continued.

The Chinese-Filipina singer was also a big winner in the Broadway Worlds awards last year, being named Best Featured Actress in a Musical award for her portrayal of Gigi in the revival of Miss Saigon.

Her former Miss Saigon co-star Jon Jon Briones also won in the "Best Performance in a Long-Running West End show (Male)." The Filipino actor also won last year.

Go bested other performers such as Matthew Corner, who finished second for his version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" in Jerser Boys, and Oliver Savile with his interpretation of "Dancing Through Life" in Wicked.
