Filipino-Australian actor James Reid was named the "Sexiest Man in the Philippines" for 2016 in an online poll participated by hundreds of thousands of fans, online entertainment magazine Starmometer announced on Monday.
The 23-year-old singer-actor-karateka garnered a total of 490,311 netizen votes during the final round of the poll which was conducted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other online polls.
Half of the phenomenal JaDine loveteam, Reid was also the "Sexiest Man in the Philippines" in 2014 on the same poll.
Meanwhile, the other half of the love team, Nadine Lustre was a tough contender in FHM's Sexiest Women in the Philippines for 2016, leading the men's magazine's poll two weeks before voting deadline. The rusult of the FHM survey is set to announce next month.
During the first round, Reid made it to top 2 of Heat 2, together with Michael Pangilinan, and earned a spot in the semi-final round. During the middle round, the "Ang Diary ng Panget" star placed 3rd among the 22 semifinalists and earned a spot in the final 5.
Finally, in the last round, Reid received the highest votes to win the "Sexiest Man in the Philippines" for the second time.
Last year's winner, Xian Lim, stepped down to second place in a very tight race with just 460 vote deficit.
Completing the top five are Paulo Avelino, who finished third; JC de Vera, who ranked fourth; and Piolo Pascual, who placed fifth.
