Kevin Durant will be the most in demand player when free agency starts

Durant, 27-year-old former NBA Most Valuable Player, will be the most in demand player once his contract expires on July 1.

Kevin Durant is still processing Oklahoma City Thunder’s Western Conference finals defeat against the Golden State Warriors while the issue of him being a free agent is getting near.

The Thunder can offer $149 million over 5 years to keep their star, or he could opt to return to Oklahoma City for one more year, before re-entering the free agency pool in 2017. Just when the salary cap will increase again and thus further raise his salary expectations.

Durant’s approaching free agency has been a hot topic long before the season began, with Washington Wizards fans hoping his Washington-area roots could convince to move East.

Durant, who has spent his entire NBA career with the same team, made very impressive plays, showing some signs that there’s no way he’s looking for a way out after Oklahoma City’s 55-win season.
