Geisler-Matos Fight Ends in a Disappointing Draw

Much to viewers' disappointment, Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos settled for a draw after a two-round bout in a highly anticipated MMA fight on Saturday, June 25, at the Valkyrie Nightclub in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The three judges scored a unanimous 19-19 draw.

Matos, who previously said is familiar with jiu-jitsu, had a good advantage over Geisler, pummeling his opponent for the majority of the first round.

On the other hand, Geisler, who had a bit of experience in tae kwon do, stormed back in the second and final round as he pounded his rival. Both celebrity fighters looked anguished in exhaustion by the final bell.

The crowd cried for a third and decision round to settle the score - the very reason they signed up for the bout is to settle their differences, to begin with. Both men appeared to decline and the draw decision stood.

Geisler and Matos signed up for the official bout at the Universal Reality Combat Championship "Fight Night" event, as a result of their altercation at a bar in Quezon City last month.

The Matos-Geisler card is one of the many fights featured at the Valkyrie Club. Other matches feature Chris Hoffman versus Arvin Chan, John Adajar opposite Jericho Tomagan and Eddie Estrada against MJ Abrillo.

Meanwhile, netizens showed their disappointment at the said event. Some tweeted for a rematch while some expressed their speculation that the match has been scripted.
