CELDRAN'S PETITION
Carlos Celdran, a Spanish Filipino tour guide, cultural activist and founder of Walk this Way, a company providing walking tours of Manila, has filed a petition on change.org for the president elect Duterte to resign. With Duterte as the "decision maker" (this is the person, organization, or group that can make a decision about the petition being submitted. Change.org is supposed to send the "decision maker" updates on the petition and encourage a response), the petition title used is as follows: "President-Elect Duterte: RESIGN. Do not take the Job."
This has also been tweeted on Celdran's Twitter account on June 2:
According to the petition of Celdran, Digong has proven himself to be "unworthy, unstable and unfit to run 100 million people." Celdran also pointed Duterte's statement about journalists deserving to die, his disrespect at women during his press conferences and his use of "homophobic language." In addition, Celdran also stated that Duterte is "ill-tempered, erratic, perverted and a proud advocate of human rights violations."
His petition as of 2:30 PM today, June 6, 2016, has reached 4,618 supporters.
COUNTER PETITIONS
Since change.org is accessible to all (and it's really easy to submit a petition with just a four-step process), we've seen another petition countering that of Celdran's.
The petition, which, for unclear reason is addressed to be delivered to (1) Mayor Bernardo S. Paredes of Cavite city, (2) Programa Electoral 2015 Partido Popular, (3) Human Rights Campaign, (4) Reddit and (5) oddly enough, to "mocha girls," has the title: "Cancel Carlos Celdran's Petition Against Duterte For Trolling."
The petition was created by a certain "Uboa San" of Las Pinas and according to his petition, "Duterte took the role of an alpha male leader. We need a real honest leader to deal [with] people who can't handle the truth, bigotry, and for those who are afraid to have a big change." "Give a second chance. It's too early to resign Duterte. Give him a trial and see how he can handle Philippines."
At the time of writing this counter petition earned 6,844 supporters.
Another counter petition says: "Stop the malicious defamation against president elect Duterte. Attention: Carlos Celdran" - has 219 supporters so far.
A bolder yet funnier counter petition wants Celdran crucified: "Crucify Carlos Celdran." Currently 68 people would also want to see this happen.
