Incoming president Rodrigo Duterte demands telecommunications and energy sectors to shape up or else they will feel his wrath.
Duterte told the media that he would impose a policy to improve the internet speed in the Philippines which is one of the slowest in Asia.
He bared that he will welcome foreign competition if telco giants in the country fail to give the best services.
The same policy applies to energy companies, to which he defined as being run like a cartel. He will open the industry to foreign investors to improve services and thin power rates.
Duterte made mention of renewable energy sources and suggested that solar panels are becoming more and more cost-effective nowadays.
