Denise Laurel, fiancé reschedule wedding to 2017

Showbiz personality Denise Laurel and cager Sol Mercado may have bought themselves more time to prepare for their wedding.

Originally set on tying the knot this year, the celebrity couple decided to postpone and move it to next year, to make the day extra special.

Denise claimed, "I’m starting na to plan," during a press conference of Lifestyle Network's new show "Modern Girls".

The bride-to-be explained a couple of factors that led to the decision, citing reasons of culture shock and inexperience.

"I think it’s always about timing. It’s no joke to have a wedding. I guess na-overwhelm lang ako putting our schedules together." She said.

She is also very conscious about the budget, noting that she didn't have any idea that a wedding could cost a lot.

"Then there’s the budget. I have no idea na aabutin ng parang 4 million or something like that. Hindi naman kasi ako bongga na tao, so I want a simple wedding lang. I don’t even know that a simple wedding would cost 2.5 million."

Denise also bared that she is thinking not just about the wedding, but also for the long-term stability of her family.

"I’m thinking kasi not lang about the wedding, I’m thinking about life," she said. "My son (Alejandro) is getting bigger and we (with Sol) want to have more kids one day. Gusto ko lang maging wais and I want to plan it properly. I’m getting there."

She added that she also considered her fiancé's tight schedule to the PBA.

Denise is currently working on a project -- a TV show entitled "Modern Girls" that debuts on May 28. She is joined by celebrities Sam Oh and Gretchen Ho.
